Have you thought for a second and analyzed the method of CNG ship transportation? You have to admit, natural gas is gaining its popularity. In short, over the years, this type of energy source has been preferred by more households and even in some industries. Perhaps, its the cost of taking advantage of its benefits matters. Moreover, it's how simple the process of how natural gas gets into your home is done.

When Natural Gas Travels

Understanding CNG transportation is simple. You have to realize that this is just like how your house has been powered with enough electricity. In other words, if transporting electricity to your home is simple, so does bringing natural gas.

From miles and miles away...

Yes, you are right. Natural gas still comes from a long way. Where do we get natural gas? Read on and you will find out how this kind of gas is formed. There are 2 elements that are crucial in this gas:
  1. carbon
  2. hydrogen
Hydrocarbons are known to be part of the chemical family. You may have recognized oil and gasoline. These are among the number of sources of energy. While gasoline and oil come from recovering crude oil, natural gas come from the ground in the form of gas. At this point, it may be difficult to figure out how it is done, these 3 stages may allow you to have a clear understanding how natural is formed and transported to your home.
Stage 1: Where it all began?
Before you may have considered the natural gas conversion for cars, you have to learn where this gas began. From microscopic plants and animals that absorbs energy from the sun and store in their bodies. Over million of years, this cycle continues. As they die, their bodies sank at the bottom of the ocean. Year after year, layers of sediment, bacteria, plants, and animals are formed.
Stage 2: As each layer is formed...
As these layers are formed, pressure and heat increases. Its amount, together with the type of biomass determine whether or not the material becomes a natural gas else, an oil. In short, natural gas is formed as heat or biomass found in the plant material increases.
Stage 3: After natural gas and oil is formed.
It is then trapped in the rock formation. These deposits that are trapped are what we now have, the natural gas.

Transporting the Natural Gas to Your Home

There may be methods of bringing this gas to your house. Are you ever familiar with the piping method? From the source of natural gas, pipes are placed underground. These pipes have valves so as to control the usage of the gas. However, have you ever thought how natural gas from across the oceans are transported to your home? At some point, they are converted to liquefied natural gas. There are available ships that complete the conversion process over the waters. In other words, from its source, then it is converted to liquid and compressed, transported, then to the shore and converted back to how it would be ready to be used in your home. You may think the process is impossible to happen, the increasing demand of this gas could prove how this method is done.

Thereby, the next time you turn your oven on, you would know how natural gas is transported.
